Brita Filter For Faucet

Answers

How to clean my Brita Faucet Filter?

My Brita Faucet Filter has gotten some build-up in the creases (on the exterior, not part of the filtration system). The switch that you use to switch from filtered to regular water has so much build-up that I can barely change it. The build-up in the creases is kind of a brownish-orange.

I've soaked it in vinegar but the problem still exists. My wife wants to WD-40 the switch! Any better ideas?

Can I hook up a portable dishwasher to a Brita-filter equipped faucet?

I know there is already a similar "resolved" question on the subject, but what I am asking is a bit different. I don't mean to use filtered water in my portable dishwasher, just wonder whether the plug would be compatible with the threads located under the filter.

In other words, can I use that faucet for the dishwasher without having to dissemble the filter every time (which would be a real pain) or do I need a separate water outlet?

Yes you can do this but remeber the plastic threads on the filter will strip very easy so be extremely careful when doing this.

brita faucet filter?

i am so frustrated with the brita, screw-on, faucet filter. it never screws in properly and the "handle" that you turn to screw on the filter is so poorly designed allowing only a weak grip, making it so difficult to screw it on. what a fukkking rip off?

according to my financial model, the screw on was the most economical way to get water compared to bottled, brita pitcher and those water dispensers.

why does my life suck so much?
hey "tradesprofessional", i googled you. you don't exist. the only website your name shows up is on yahoo. so stop fooling yourself about bob vila and what not.

I had the same problem. An adaptor from my local hardware store solved the problem. As for life sucking, if it didn't sometimes suck we wouldn't appreciate the non-sucky moments. So take a deep breath, go the hardware store and try to enjoy life's challenges.

how to reset the indicator lite on a brita faucet mount filter?

i bought 3 months ago i replaced my faucet and the lite stopped working.

I had the same problem - the unit was defective.

Contact Brita at their toll free number, they will ask you for a serial number that's located inside the unit. Once they verify the number they will usually ship a new unit to you free of charge.

Slow flow with Brita AquaView faucet filter?

My Brita filter works fine in the filter mode, but in the other 2 modes of unfiltered mode, the water flow is far from when the unit was new. I believe it may have something to do with the little rubber balls the the valve lever moves. Can these be replaced or fixed somehow? Any help would be great! Thanks

One Little Word She Knew: What#39;s In My Water? Part 1

Sometime this spring I started wondering "What's in my water?" and it sent me on a research mission. I already knew that we had lead in our water from old pipes - the water runs slightly orange every morning and very orange if we've been gone for a couple days. We had a Brita filter on the kitchen faucet and a PUR water pitcher in the refrigerator for this reason, but I started to wonder about the bigger water filtration systems and what was different about them. I started by looking at the Brita and PUR websites and what contaminants their filters remove from the water. Brita simply states that "The Brita Faucet Filter removes microbiological cryptosporidium and giardia. It also reduces lead, TTHM, VOCs, lindane (pesticide), 2, 4-D, alachlor, atrazine (herbicide), chlorine (taste and odor) and sediment." PUR provides a more extensive PDF file comparing the different filtration options...
