They look like mold spots and its in the filter where the screen is and it just looks like something I don't want my water to be running over...
Not the electronic screen, the filter screen on the BOTTOM of the filter when you take it out.

I have lived in Uptown for the past two years and ever since last spring (early summer?), the tap water has gotten the fishy smell/taste around this time of year. Taking a bath in the stuff is the worst; the smell is enough to drive me out after just a couple minutes! Again, thank god for Brita filters! Drinking fishy water is nasty!
