he always uses it and never refills it so when i go to get some water it is empty.... plus he never replaces the filters which arent cheap. should i mix some vinegar in the water to teach him a lesson the next time he gets a glass?

i normally refill my brita pitcher every night because i drink lots of water daily. but this past weekend i wasn't around and my the water was in the pitcher all weekend hanging around for two whole days. when i came back i notice that there was mold growing in the water? couple of things to note: i have the brita pitcher for over a year and i wash it every time i switch the filter which is apporiximately every 1 1/2 to 2 months.

just want to know if any one seen this before behavior before and if it still safe to use the pitcher with a new filter? or should i just buy a new brita system?

It happens to mine all the time. I just dump out the water and clean it again.

It helps to use a bit of bleach when washing between filters.

I have a Brita filter and a water bottle that I keep in my fridge. Whenever I want to drink water, I drink straight from the water bottle, and refill it as needed. Are there germs festering in the water bottle from my mouth? How often do I need to clean it?

Clean it daily if you are drinking right out of it.

I have a ceramic water dispenser and I have a 5 gallon plastic jug; a couple days after I fill it up the water starts tasting funky. Everytime I refill it, I clean it and bleach it out. What's the best recommendation? I've used Brita filters and the tap water still tastes weird. I'm tired of spending money on water bottles.
I live in Las Vegas and so the tap water is HORRIBLE.

your ceramic may be tainted, cracked and it may not be visible. No matter how much you bleach it, bacteria will still pervade.

Still water does become funky. No more oxygen. That is why fresh water is important...plumbing was a great invention. I am sorry about your tap water. Some areas of the country just have sorry tasting water. You can keep the water in fridge longer in a pitcher. We do so with a brita dispenser and have no problem. I fill it up weekly...but I do keep in fridge.

I just got contact lenses.... so when do I refill the case? Everytime I notice that the solution is almost finishing in the case, or everytime I take off the contacts, or whatt?

And how do I wash the case? Everyday, every month, what? With tap water or filtered Brita water or just with the solution?! I use Opti-Free Multipurpose by the way.
