I am just wondering how a Brita work.
Is it basically chromatography?
Does the Brita filter change hard water into soft water by removing Ca or Mg ions?
The cartridge is an mixed bed ion exchange resin that removes anions and cations.

Does the water running through the filter in one of the Brita pitchers really purify the water as claimed? I know what their marketing says but outside of that can it work the way they claim?

My Brita filter works fine in the filter mode, but in the other 2 modes of unfiltered mode, the water flow is far from when the unit was new. I believe it may have something to do with the little rubber balls the the valve lever moves. Can these be replaced or fixed somehow? Any help would be great! Thanks

Well, I had to make a post about water filters exciting in some way eh? Now, here’s what I really wanted to tell you.
We’re on our second water filter at home. The first one was a Brita jug, which worked perfectly fine until a small crack appeared in the bottom. Filters lasted slightly less than a month before it became obvious the water wasn’t as pure.
