I would like to know if using a Brita for water would work to prevent tear staining on dogs? To save money on water than to buy distilled/bottled water for a dog.
I have seen filtered water work for a friend's dog combined with a high quality grainless dog food.
22 volunteers, 13 days, 9 water pumps and a water tank completed. The Giantess by Bombay Bicycle Club I don#39;t own the rights to the song ...
Does the water running through the filter in one of the Brita pitchers really purify the water as claimed? I know what their marketing says but outside of that can it work the way they claim?
According to the Brita site,
"The Brita Water Filtration Pitcher has been tested and certified by NSF International, the nation's leading testing authority for water filtration products."
The NSF site has lots of information about what contaminants may be in your water and how to find out more about your local water supply.
I am just wondering how a Brita work.
Is it basically chromatography?
Does the Brita filter change hard water into soft water by removing Ca or Mg ions?
The cartridge is an mixed bed ion exchange resin that removes anions and cations.
I know that it takes the H2O from the faucet or where-ever. There is carbon in it that catches the bad things or Elements in the water. But what is the scientific way?
Call Brita or read on a web search for your answer.
They have different sizes, but basically, you fill the top of the pitcher and the water filters down to the lower half of the pitcher and gets filtered by the charcoal filter in between the top and bottom parts.
I conducted a taste test and I could definitely tell the difference between regular tap water and the brita filtered water.
The only bad part about the Brita filter is that it can only hold so much and you have to wait for the water to trickle down before you can pour it into a glass or whatever.
Also, spring water or other bottled water might taste better than the brita filter. Another bad thing is that the filters cost about 6 dollars and last about 3 months per the instructions.
Community Recap – 1.01 “Pilot”
What first drew me to this series was the appearance of Joel McHale and Chevy Chase. The combination sounded interesting and fun. What sold me is the fact that it’s set at a community college. My loving husband is a comm. college alum, and I look forward to making fun of him mercilessly via this show. So, here we go!
Ooh balloons! Sorry, I have a toddler and I’m easily distracted. We open with a Moby look-alike trying and failing to welcome a hapless group of freshman to Greendale. “Moby”, the Dean of this fine institution, offers up this inspirational speech: “What is Community College? Well, you’ve heard all kinds of things. You’ve heard it’s loser college, or remedial teen, 20 something drop out, middle aged divorcees, and old people keeping their minds active as they circle the drain of eternity. That’s what you’ve heard, however, I wish you luck!” You’ve now met our cast of characters. I wonder which one is my husband?
