After a week of use (meaning it's been used maybe 3 times) the teflon coating is peeling in one spot and the bottom of the pan is just coming apart. My husband tapped a spoon on the side of the pan and it dented. It seems a little flimsy. My previous set lasted for years. Based on it's performance so far, I fear this one will not.

I ordered this because I was having company and we were having salmon steaks and I needed a pan big enough for eight med. steaks and my 9 and 10 inch pans would not work. This one sure did. And the T-Fal line has always been a favorite of mine. It even looks nice hanging up on my pot rack. Great pan at a great price!!!
“Green” Posts Follow-Up: Part One – Kitchen
Part One of the follow-up relates to the kitchen.
~ Overall, we are generating less kitchen trash / recycling than before the experiment, and the amount of trash we generate in the form of recycling has decreased substantially.
~ We quit drinking bottled water back in November. That was a big step for me because our local water is a bit funky-tasting. However, we do have a filter in our fridge’s water dispenser and one by our sink’s faucet and I’m now able to drink the filtered tap water with no problems. This change has made a HUGE impact on the number of trips we make to the recycling center, not to mention it’s cut our grocery shopping budget a wee bit. On the flip side, I do realize there is an environmental impact relating to the production and disposal of the water filters (I know Brita has a filter recycling program, but this is a below-the-sink filter), but that seems to be the lesser of two evils. In looking at the water filters after we remove them, I’m not feeling especially encouraged to totally eliminate them and drink water straight from the tap. However, I never thought I’d switch from bottled water to filtered tap water, so who knows where I’ll stand on this issue a year from now.
