Britta Pitcher

Answers

How many months can a Britta pitcher sit without being used before it goes bad? Someone let a friend?

of his use the pitcher after it was sitting in the fridge unused for 10 months. If someone were to refill it without cleaning it or changing the filter, would the water be considered dirty, possibly toxic?

Wash it out with hot soapy water, change the filter. The filter is bacteria laden after all this time.

I found some black residue at the bottom of my Britta pitcher mixing with the water that I drink. What is it?

I realize that it is normal for there to be carbon particles in the top, not drinking water, part of the pitcher. However, I am complaining about some black residue found in the bottom that was very gross and slimy looking.

Sometimes those pitchers lose little bits of charcoal into the pitcher...mine does that a lot.

Since it was slimy I'd say it's nice to toss it and get a new one because it sounds like mold and has probably gotten all through the filter and everything.

How to use a Britta cartridge and pitcher.....?

I have a Britta filter and pitcher. Do I fill the pitcher up with water and then set the filter? Or do I pour the water through the filter into the pitcher? Gotta know the answer soon, I have a dinner and a night of hot s#x riding on the answer;)

If the cartridge is new, then you have to soak it in cold water for like an hour first. Then put that in the cartridge holder in the pitcher, then pour the water in so it can drain through the filter.

What is the best water filter pitcher?

I want to compare the PUR water filter pitcher with the Britta one. Which filters out the most contaiminents?

I checked out PUR's website and looked at their filter pitcher. It claims to filter out 2 times the contaminants than Brita so... I guess you should stick to your PUR filter pitcher.
