Why do all the European and Asian countries ban flouride in water but the U.S. doesn't? Which bottled waters are flouride-free? Do Britta water filtration pitchers filter out flouride from water? What about the water that Starbucks coffee shops use, and the water in sodas like Coca-Cola? Do they have flouride? Please answer all my questions. Thanks

1) All European and Asian countries do not ban fluoride in water. Some countries, like Ireland, add fluoride to their water. In the US, you have have no more than 4mg/L of fluoride in water.
2) Bottled waters from reverse osmosis will have little to no fluoride in it.
3) Brita water filters do not remove fluoride.
4) Fluoride content for consumers products will vary based on the source waters and processes to purify. If Starbucks uses local water that is fluorinated, the coffee will have fluoride in it.

The kind that attaches to your sink faucet or the container kind where you pour water in it and leave it in your fridge? The Britta type filters that are sold in almost every store.
Im more of looking for which one lasts longer and which one you like better from experience.

Actually, neither kind does anything for you except flavour your drinking water.

The main problem with drinking water today (in most civilized countries) is that in order to purify it quickly and cheaply, they shock it with chlorine, then strain it with sand & charcoal filters. It still has a chlorine odour and taste, which is covered over when you use a filtration system.

The best water filtration system I have seen was created by Xenon Water Systems. An isolated water tank that when filled kept water exceptionally clean and tasting very nice (it uses the human body as the best purifier... which it is, and then simply removes all extraneous bio-product from all incoming fluids). Of course this system is not cheap, but once you're off the city tap water, all of a sudden everything tastes a lot better (since you are not getting the chlorine in your water, your juice, on your fruits & vegetables.. etc. then you can taste what things really should taste like).

In the mean time, boil your drinking water, then put it through a filtration system... that's the best, cheapest way to get adequate tasting water.

I’m going on a 3 week vacation to St-Kitts. I don’t want to carry bottled water or have to purchase water while I am there. I was wondering, would a “Britta” filter work? Or are there other pesticides or bacteria or something in the water that can’t be filtered with these filtration systems? If they do work, which is the best?
