What Are The Little Black Things In My Brita Water

Answers

What are the black things in the top of my brita water filter?

There are little black specs in the top of my water filter where you pour the water into. What are they?

It is some of the carbon granules that have floated out of the top of the filter from when you filled it with water.

No biggy - it is normal and harmless.

Can water actually grow mold?

I feel really silly asking this, but can it? I went to get some water out of my Brita pitcher, which was in my fridge, and found little, white "sea anemone" type things on the bottom of the pitcher. When I wiped out the bottom, the white things turned out to be black. So I was just curious what it was.

Truly pure water would not support fungi growth. However, your Brita filter does not come anywhere close to producing pure water, particularly from the stand point of a hardy fungus. There are a variety of fungi that can grow in the presence of very low salts and very low organic matter. All fungi must have some organic matter to digest as an energy source and some inorganic salts. We typically call these fungi mildews. The fungal spores that gave rise to the colonies likely came from variety of sources. The container that you thought was clean, the Brita filter can't remove all the spores from the water and you will introduce spores from the air every time you open the container.

PERFORMANCELOGÍA: Chance spirituality and Manifesto in Performance ...

Last week, I made dinner for Tagny Duff and Kirsten Forkert at my home in Finn Slough, a 100-year-old fishing village on the south arm of the Fraser River. It was very dark, very rainy, and heavy on the root vegetables with brown rice. After dinner, we recorded a 90-minute audio record of our conversation about art, performance, the tour, and ReciproCity/cite. It was a great pleasure to get together as I had been really missing everyone since the tour. By the time Kirsten and Tagny were dropped at a very dark and rainy bus stop bound for Vancouver, I was certain of two things: ReciproCity/cite should continue as a group, and, I believe we are exploring a new area of spirituality in performance. I love art that changes one's consciousness. This change of consciousness is a spiritual act and can be felt during the performance and/or in its creative process. I am using the word spiritual to...

I Need Your Help... Eye Stain

We've all got super cute pets , but my pretty little guy has a not so pretty problem – unsightly discoloration below his eye. Only visible on his white fur, I can never seem to get it clean with simple shampoo. I know it's not "dirty," but with so many pricey products out there, I'd love to get an inside scoop. Does anyone else have this problem? And anyone else (fingers crossed) have a solution for the rest of us?!

i had to sit a persian cat for a week once, and his eye goop made me gag when he tried to purr in my face SO i went to wegmans (a local whole-foods type store) and bought organic chemical/alcohol/scent free baby wipes and used those. they worked and got a majority of the goop and stain out. Now his owner uses them exclusively and there hasn't been any negatives!

I have a maltese and her tear stains are HORRIBLE! I have tried everything- wipes, angel eyes dog food poweder - my vet recently told me there is a prescription that you can put in their food that helps - but it will take a few months to clear it up - so be patient!

Doing it the right way

On one of my tracks I say quot;A place to lay my head when I#39;m back from tour, A Brita filter so my water can be pure, like yours.quot; I smiled when I wrote it.
