Will drinking water improve my health drastically?
Woman holding drink.

Im 15 years old, and the only thing I usually drink are energy drinks, soda and juice. I do drink chocolate milk on occasions. But i've never really drank water. I am very healthy, or so I beleive. I'm very fit. I want to only drink water starting the first day of spring break, and I want to do this because I heard water and increase the condition of your health, and youll feel more energetic. Also, your lips will be healthy and you can rarely get sick.

I also take vitamins everyday.

Water is so beneficial in so many ways. Here of some of the things that it helps with:
1) It makes you feel less hungry, so I heard that drinknig a glass of water about half hour before a meal helps you eat less.
2) It cleanses your body (which means it gets rid of toxins which in turn helps to clear up your skin) and helps regulate sodium (from salt) in your body.
3)It helps in the breakdown of fats in your body, so you'll less likely get the dimples in your thighs and problem areas (counts more when you get a bit older).
4) It helps you not to retain fluid in your body (ie water weight is reduced).
5) It makes you feel less constipated.

How can cyanobacteria affect our drinking water and health?
beach hydration

Black Band disease was first observed on reefs in Belize by Antonius, who described the pathogen he found infecting massive corals as Oscillatoria membrancea, a bluegreen alga. The band color may be blackish brown to red depending on the vertical position of a cyanobacterial population associated with the band. The vertical position is based on a light intensity-dependent photic response of the cyanobacterial filaments, and the color (due to the cyanobacterial pigment phycoerythrin) is dependent on the thickness of the band. The band is approximately 1 mm thick and ranges in width from 1 mm to 7 cm. White specks may be present on surface, at times forming dense white patches. The pathogenic microbial mat consortium moves across coral colonies at rates from 3 mm to 1 cm/day. Tissue death is caused by exposure to an anoxic, sulfide-rich microenvironment associated with the base of the band.

Is drinking distilled water good for health?
Construction Worker Drinking Water

Distilled water is pure H2o. Is it good for health? if we drink couple of days a week only distilled water will it help in detox'ing the body?

actually we get a good deal of our trace minerals from plain old drinking water, distilled water has none of these trace minerals in it. While it won't hurt you, it isn't going to do much good either.

Environmental, Health and Safety News: Canada#39;s quest for safe ...

In a G8 nation well-endowed with fresh water, many Canadians still struggle to acquire the potable kind.

Health Canada reported almost 2,000 boil-water advisories across the country last year.

The town mayor compares it to Third World conditions. He says residents knowingly drink unsafe levels of E. coli, even winding up with stomach problems, because they don't have much of a choice.

In April 2008, the Canadian Medical Association Journal reported there were 1,766 provincial boil-water advisories across the country – plus 93 warnings in First Nations communities. It estimated that 90 Canadians die annually from tainted water.

This year, 113 First Nations were under drinking-water advisories on July 31, Health Canada said.

But Steve Hrudey, a University of Alberta water expert, says drinking-water advisories were designed for emergencies, not everyday life.

“To have boil-water advisories in place for months and years, as is the case in a number of Canadian communities, is basically saying ‘We don't want to know,' ” Hrudey said.
