I would like to know if there would be a way to make sea water safe for drinking. And would this end the thought of running out of fresh water. And, or could it be used to irrigate the dryest climates

The process is known as distillation. What is done is sea water is boiled. The steam is captured and condensed back into liquid water. Any impurities are left behind as they didn't evaporate with the water.

So i've been going to the gym daily & while on the cardio machine I drink water . Not that excessively; like one water bottle . I think I'm getting some sort of a "water belly " @ the bottom of my stomach . I'm not on my period ; so i'm not bloated or anything .

Water Dept refuses to offer any info and today my daughter's school, a block
away was telling kids the water is contaminated, they've brought in
water machines.Yet the chumps @ the water plant won't say a word, the calls all go to an answering service which isn't allowed to comment.
Get together as many people as you can to call your town's clerk office and complain or city mayor, call your local board of health and report it. The more calls the likely an investigation will take place. Get ideas from other people, call a meeting at the school from concerned parents.
In the meantime boil all the water you use for drinking and cooking before you use it.
There are water purifiers now too right in the grocery stores you can but,Britta,not sure of the spelling. Or bottled water that can be delivered to your home.

I am staying in a hot city for my job pourpose. This is a city wihc is too hot and it is surrounded by hill area. I want to use safe drinking water. If i purchase mineral water it will be too costly. I cannot maintain my expenses by using it. My office is having a cooler but it does not have an acuaguard machine to clean the water. I am used to drink clean sweet water. But because of my job I have to stay here and use this water. I am not satisfied from this water. I doubd I may get a disease which may cause my testifcles becoming fat. The governor sent a letter to Washington on Wednesday demanding a response to “catastrophic impacts” he said were caused by federal environmental rules that have slashed water deliveries.
Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and Commerce Secretary Gary Locke countered that a three-year drought is responsible for most of the state’s water shortages, not agency scientists.
A Schwarzenegger spokesman said the governor’s office was reviewing the secretaries’ written response.
Tight water supplies have caused cities throughout the state to ration supplies and farmers to abandon a quarter-million acres of croplands.
The state’s failure to restore the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, the freshwater estuary that forms the heart of the state’s outdated water delivery system, has only compounded the problem, the secretaries said.
“We are disappointed that your letter would attempt to lay the California water crisis at the feet of agency scientists,” the letter read. “You can be assured that the federal government will be a full partner to help implement any comprehensive plan that the state enacts into law.”
