Stop paragon water filter connection from spraying and leaking where it screws into the faucet?
Clean water

I bought a paragon 10,000 gallon water filter from Sears for $60.00 and the part that screws into the faucet sprays water. The unit came with 3 different rubber washers, and I tried each of them, and it still sprays water. This particular water filter screws into the faucet, and the water base sits on the countertop, and is good for a whopping 10,000 gallons which is cool, but I can't seem to stop the darn water from spraying out where it screws the water diverter into the faucet! I am hoping that someone out there who has had a similar problem knows how to fix it, or is a plumber or understands how to correct this problem. Thanks and I look forward to reading your answers. Thanks!

i would use Teflon tape , rap it twice , o n the thread,
then apply the washer , make sure you screw it slowly ,and straight

Faucet or pitcher water filter guarantees safe drinking tap water?
Hold That Thought..

I just moved into an apartment and the water is awful. When it first comes from the faucet, it tastes fine but smells like metal or rust, but then after leaving it out for a while, it tastes metallic. Would getting a faucet or water pitcher filter give me safe drinking water? Should I start buying bottled water instead of a filter?
This is in Richardson, TX

It's probably old pipes that is giving your water that metallic taste - not the water itself. So yes, I would buy bottled water.

I'm trying to get a faucet water filter off the faucet. Do I loosen it by going clockwise or counterclockwise?
French Kitchen

I tried using a pipe wrench and going counterclockwise but it is not coming off (tried the other way also). It is plastic and tiny bits are flaking off when I tried to remove. How should I get it off and is turning it counterclockwise the way to loosen it. Thanks.
I know the righty tighty saying. I just can't visualize it. I want the answer in clockwise/counterclockwise direction terms please.
If it is stuck (or I'm too weak), is there anything that will loosen it. As I said it is plastic and has been on there sometime. They are replacing my sink and I need to get this off.

If you're looking down to the faucet, it's clockwise. if you're looking up at the opening of the faucet, it's counter-clockwise. It's confusing....good luck.

  • House Water Filters – How to choose the best water treatment plants?

Many people are looking for a home water filters, and for good reason – has made it clear that tap water is not always drinkable. Surely, it was clean, but usually this process of water purification is not sufficient to eliminate these dangerous things, like bacteria, radionuclides, metals and residues of pesticides, herbicides and which are often found in normal household tap water. Having a house water purification system to ensure that the water you drink and your family is healthy and clean, but the filter is right for you? The most popular water filters, water filters are known as carbon-carbon filters. They are made of coconut shells. This filter is quite good – it will remove the most dangerous pollutants of water, but allows the minerals that contribute to the care of human health. Carbon filters are not expensive, and a cartridge lasts 6-9 months. However, water treatment plants for carbon a number of drawbacks. First of all, can not change the pH of the water, so if you know that water is in your air is acidic, you may need a second filter – a mere nobody solves the carbon problem. Another problem is that if the filter is not used for several days is beginning to moldy, especially in hot days a month. If you feel that the filtered water tastes like mold, replace the cartridge. This type of water treatment plants are designed to be used in submarines to turn the salty sea water into drinking water. But it added that – as the water passes through a very beautiful film, most of the impurities are removed. Reverse osmosis water purifiers do their job very well, sometimes a bit 'too good. They remove all the minerals, leaving only pure distilled water, and some researchers found in distilled water is not the best for our health ether – our body is rich in minerals, which usually come from hard (not purified) water . Ultra Violet water filtration system is a relatively recent invention. As the light travels at high frequency in water, it effectively kills all microorganisms. Thus, the UV filters are ideal for getting rid of the bacteria, but do not remove the dangerous mineral. They are often used in hotels in countries where the risk of contaminated water is high. However, if you live in the air, where water is generally of poor quality, you should go whole house water purification system. Surely, this will cost more, but you get the clear water for all the needs of families. Most whole house water filtration systems are the type of reverse osmosis, and they work quite well.

    Germs Removed with Water Filters

To get rid of germs in your home water system you need a faucet water filter that can do the job. But it better be the right water filter or you just wasted your time, money and possibly put your health in danger.

Its a nasty job and not every water filter can do it.  Follow this advice and you will protect your family from a host of dirty germs and bad bacteria.

Don’t buy a faucet water filter that you see advertised on television or in print.  Those companies spend the majority of their budgets on advertising and they skimp on quality.

The really cheap faucet water filters are just that; cheap .  But, some of the more expensive units are cheaply made.  I have read numerous complaints about GE and Kenmore, even though their products cost at least a hundred and fifty dollars for their “low end” models.

    Shop for Quality

If you want a higher quality faucet water filter, you need to look to experts in water filtration.  Companies like GE and Kenmore may be able to build a good dishwasher, but when it comes to water purifiers, that seems to change.
