Water trickles from tub shower faucet. Is cartride gone bad? I have 1700 series delta faucet. If the problem is with cartridge, where do I find information how to do it. Delta website gives very little info. Please help
Delta has a replacement policy with Home Depot or Loews. Call them. It is just a matter of you taking the cartridge with you and they will give you a new one. Free.
It is as simple as that.
I have done it a few times myself.
So, you have a Delta 1400 Series bathtub faucet, and there#39;s water leaking from the spout. You can repair this yourself with no special tools ...
Delta bathroom sink fixture with separate hot and cold knobs. At least 20 years old. I replaced both cartridges with (what I thought were) the proper cartridges--I took them to Home Depot to compare--and at first everything was fine, although I really had to crank down on the knobs to get the faucet to stop dripping. Two months later I'm getting a steady drip. Since the cartridges are brand new, either they were the wrong ones or I installed them incorrectly. Any ideas? Thanks.
You should never have to crank down on ANY faucet to get it to stop dripping.
If that's the case, there's a problem somewhere.
In your case, it's most likely in the seats.
That's the brass rings that the cartridges, or valve stems, seal on.
These should have been replaced along with your valve stems.
In fact, they should have come with them when you purchased them.
You need a special, inexpensive seat removal tool to get them off and install new ones.
Once you do that, your faucet will be like new.
And no more cranking on your faucet knobs...

Replacement cartridge for bath faucet
Fits Ace No.: 4020566 (Model 1324) 4020574 (Model 1348)
I have a delta shower valve and I replaced the cartridge, but I cannot get the cartridge to go all the way back in to the housing. I do not want to damage it, what should I do?
The cartridge should be well greased with high temp stem grease on the o'rings, for easy install. First, make sure there are no foreign object inside the housing, then place the cartridge inside the housing, aligning the raised notch on the cartridge into the groove on the brass housing. Place the brass nut (threaded ring) over the cartridge, and tighten the ring down while applying steady pressure to the cartridge, making sure the notch and groove align- as you tighten the ring it will pull the cartridge back into the housing- for easier tightening apply stem grease to the threads of the brass nut. Hand tighten, do not torque down with pliers, this is not necessary.

The faucet is almost 5 years old and came with the new house.
I removed the handle , however, I could not remove the cover to expose the interior parts. Delta sent me a cartridge to replace, but no instructions how to install
cheked the delta website. no instruction how-to dis-assemble
Take a cresent wrench or a pipe wrench and loosen the nut that is around the stem. Use a towel in the jaws of the wrench so you won't mess up the chrome or other finish that it has. Good luck. If you need further assistance, go down to the hardware store and have them give you instructions or show you how it's done.
I have a leaky showerhead and trying to get to the cartridge to replace. I am having a problem removing the trim sleeve from the unit. It is frozen solid.
try CLR in a baggie, wrapped around the head. Let it soak for a couple hrs. Good luck

Delta Classic Kitchen Faucet Troubleshooting amp; Repair
If your Delta Faucet is leaking, dripping or you just simply need to replace a broken part then the good news is that you can do this with some few basic hand plumbing tools. It’s always best to change the leaking stem of any faucet because that will save lots of water. Most of the time your faucet will leak because the faucet stem, faucet washers, or the faucet seat have gone bad. Sometimes the packing on your faucet will start to leak as well.
You can find many replacement parts for your Delta Faucet at plumbing supply houses, local hardware stores with a large plumbing isle or even right online. If your faucet needs many parts you might want to consider replacing the entire faucet to save money. Sometimes its just cheaper to replace the faucet then to replace part by part.
When working on your Delta Faucet always be sure to inspect all internal and external parts for wear. If you notice any part of the faucet that is worn you should also repair that part as well. Also always be sure to inspect your faucet water supply lines and valves to make sure they are also in good standing order.
