Review of Pur Pitcher Filter Water Filter System. See what eFilterWater thinks about this system.
I want to compare the PUR water filter pitcher with the Britta one. Which filters out the most contaiminents?
I checked out PUR's website and looked at their filter pitcher. It claims to filter out 2 times the contaminants than Brita so... I guess you should stick to your PUR filter pitcher.

Handles make it easy to fill and carry
Water dispenser with filter; reduces chemicals, bad taste and odor in water
Filter-life gauge indicates when filter needs to be replaced
The directions say that you should keep the water touching the bottom of the filter to keep it from drying out, and I was wondering how long it takes for the filter to dry out. Can the water not touch it for an hour, a day? After filling up a couple of glasses of water, it is no longer touching the bottom of the filter, but there is still more than half of the water left. If I refill it, I have to wait for the fridge to cool the water again.
I have one, and for the same reasons, don't always have the pitcher filled all the way up to the bottom of the filter, either. I've never had a problem with it drying out, but maybe I just can't tell! I think it will be fine.

Space-saving design fits easily in a refrigerator
I've got a bad habit of opening a bottle of water, drinking less than half and leaving it somewhere, then forgetting about it and opening a new one.
I understand after a couple days (especially if left uncapped) this is an all-inclusive party for bacteria growth.
Rather than throwing these half-consumed bottles of water, would an effective treatment be to run them through my PUR or Brita Water pitcher in the fridge?
you could boil the water if you were that fearful....
Okay, so I bought a Pur water filter pitcher so that I would stop buying so much bottled water, with the intention to be more environmentally friendly.
The time just came to replace the cartridge for the first time. What do I with the old cartridge? Can it be recycled at all? I don't like thorwing things in the trash if I don't have to.
better dump it in the back yard of your neighbour at night without making any noice of throwing.

Pur Flavor Options
I don't like un-flavored water unless it has a lemon, which really reduces the amout of water I drink on a regular basis. Since bottled flavored waters aren't cheap, they aren't something I usually have around the house. I just tried the PUR Flavor Options water pitcher and I really like it. It's like a regular PUR water filter pitcher (or if you aren't familir with the PUR brand, it's like Brita), only better. They've made two improvements to the regular PUR fridge pitcher Daniel and I already have. First, there's a push button at the top that will blink when it's time to replace your filter. Just press it when you put a new filter in, and it will remind you when it's time. No more peel-and-stick labels for the fridge! The second new feature, the "flavor option" is a little cartridge that fits in the lid of the pitcher. Push the flavor button when you pour and get a hint of flavor in your water if you like or don't push the button and get plain, filtered water. We tried the grape...
PUR Flavor Options Pitcher *GIVEAWAY* : Reviewsings
Woods, you might recall stinky water. Our water here in Southeast Georgia smells like…well, to be honest? Rotten eggs. It’s dis.gus.ting! Our house is on city water so it isn’t as bad as well water, but it’s still slightly odoriferous. Enough that I don’t want to drink it.
When I was pregnant though, I knew I really needed to drink water more than ever. So we started buying case upon case of bottled water. I know, I know! The environment! Oi!
I wish I’d had a PUR water filtration system back then. Especially the neat one with flavor options that I was lucky enough to try out!!!

If you aren’t familiar with the PUR water filtration system, let me bring you up to speed. I received the starter system which includes a pitcher, one filter, and one replaceable flavor cartridge. You pour your tap water into the pitcher, and the PUR filter gets all the yuckies out! PUR is certified to reduce chlorine and chlorination by-products, heavy metals, sediment, microbial cysts, agricultural pollutants, and industrial pollutants. Uh, yuck. I know. Thank you, PUR.
