pure tap water

Does it make sense to say that tap water is denser than pure water?
Droplets

In a lab, I got a water density of 1.016 g/mL instead of exactly 1 g/mL, but we did use tap water and not pure water, so can this be a possible explanation for the difference in densities?

Maybe, although I would expect the difference to be smaller. There may be some measurement error also, we are only talking about 1.6% difference.

Edit: this reference shows tap water slightly LESS dense than pure water (0.998), possibly due to dissolved air.

So I expect your problem is measurement error.

Do you prefer pure bottle water or tap water which came from filthy sources with clorine added to cleanse it?
Water

Let's face it, tap water comes from the water you once used to wash dishes, taking a shower or bath, cleaning water-based paint brushes & rollers, washing clothes, and using the toilet (ugh!!) It goes to a water purifying plant where its treated many ways with clorine bleach added to it which you can smell ,before it comes out of the tap. Recycled water in other words. Even Aquafina is now switching to using tap water in their bottles. They will still sell its regular pure water. Restaurants use tap water now!I prefer pure bottled water. No tap water for me!!

i rather have pure bottle water, than tap water because you might get really sick from tap water

How is it possible that tap water conducts electricity and pure water doesnt ?

tap water contains dissolved ions that conduct the electricity

Actually pure water does conduct electricity because water does dissociate into H+ and OH- ions. The resistance of pure water is about 18.3 megaohms. Not infinity.

Bottled Water Vs. Tap Water « Customized Workout Plans

Bottled Water Vs. Tap Water August 19th, 2009 | By customizedworkoutplans

You may read the labels of some bottled water and see ‘Comes from sparkling springs’ or ‘Pristine pure water’.  Some But more than 25 percent of it comes from a municipal supply.  Bottled water labels can be misleading.  Surveys show that most people think bottled water is more pure then tap water.

In 1999 the NRDC tested more than 1,000 bottles of 103 brands of water. (This is the most recent major report on bottled water safety.) While noting that most bottled water is safe, the organization found that at least one sample of a third of the brands contained bacterial or chemical contaminants, including carcinogens, in levels exceeding state or industry standards. Since the report, no major regulatory changes have been made and bottlers haven’t drastically altered their procedures, so the risk is likely still there.

Over time the plastic from bottled water heats, and chemicals leak into the water supply.  While drinking bottled water may seem convenient, tap water has been found to be a cleaner supply of water.  There are various federal and local regulations that tap water must pass.  While bottle water isn’t as nearly regulated, tap water must contain under a certain amount of contaminants to be allowed into households.

Fertility problems are very common in Australia, with one in six couples suffering from some kind of birth related difficulty, such as infertility, prematurity and the delivery of underweight babies.

Zac Bobrov, the technical and research director for InterClinical Laboratories, says that many of these problems are down to nutritional mineral deficiencies and excessive levels of toxic metals in the body.

“The latest threat is Uranium. Australia has 30-40% of all the world’s minable uranium, which will be dug up soon. The nuclear power stations that will go up will also require this uranium. So we also have to put that into the mix.”
