Howdy, I drink Nestle pure life water, and I think it tastes good. But sometimes I get an odd bottle that tastes horrible, I don't know how to explain the taste, but it tastes terrible.
Has anyone else noticed this disgusting taste? And does anyone know what this taste is?

My guess would be you got a stale batch. Yes I've tasted water go bad before. Not their brand, don't drink bottled water from stores. I've tasted water go bad at work with the watercooler. We get bottled water and have had it sit for a while sometimes, just the way it was used(not rotated). So if it sat or a bad batch was sent yeah it tastes bad.

I've lived in Oregon most of my life and the tap water there tastes very clean and fresh, but I just moved to California and the tap water tastes very stale and almost somewhat fishy. I don't want to have to keep buying bottled water, so would one of those (charcoal?) water-filter pitchers help the water taste more pure and good?
Yes it does. The filter in the water pitcher filters out most of the minerals, therefore making it tastes better.
You didn't say which part of California you moved to, but in Los Angeles, you can really taste the chlorine. If you live in an older house with steel pipes, you can also taste the rust/minerals. It's gross.
Bottled water is too expensive. Get a reverse osmosis filter that goes under your sink. You can get them for under $100.

My water tap water tastes like pure chlorine, i got a brita filter which helps a little, but still tastes like chlorine, is there anything that will get rid of that chlorine after taste? is it healthy having water that tastes like that?
Actually telling your city to use less chlorine will just make you sound uninformed.
To eliminate the taste you would need to either increase chlorine levels, or remove it completely. Most states won't allow option 2.
Why? the chlorine taste is actually the disinfection process in action. So when you have too little chlorine, it hasn't finished the disinfection process 100% by the time you're drinking it.
