Kenmore refrigerator water dispenser won't flow and ice maker makes very little ice?

The ice maker makes some ice cubes but not many and what it makes are small.. The water dispenser isn't working either. I have replaced the cartridge water purifier. Are there any other inline filters i need to check? or other suggestions as to the problem.. Thanks!!!!


ice maker inlet water supply really slow that why you ice maker makes ice very little ice. You should check the incoming solenoid valve probably is out or the something stuck at the filter strainer.

Unable to get the older cartridge out of the Kitchen Aid Refrigerator. I turned off the ice maker. Please help

I am trying to change the water filter in the Kitchenaid two door fridge. I am not able to get the old cartridge out. I turned off the icemaker as per instructions and tried to turn the cartridge anti-clockwise, but it does not move or turn.


On ours we also have to turn off the water supply to the filter in order to remove it. That being said, we had one that was still difficult to remove and we had to spray it with WD-40 to get it off.

    We do not utilize a filter, have always just had the plug installed in its place. So I had the bright idea, that since we dont use the filter, why not just bypass the inlet solenoid and connect the supply water line from the wall directly to the after filter solenoid. After making the connections, I get a steady dribble of water from the door water without even pressing the button. By the way I did check the supply tube for freezing (it was clear) and the ice maker seems to function fine. If I fill the tray by hand it does everything its supposed to. When it cycles I get current through the wire to the solenoid so I dont think ther is any problem with the ice maker. I put 120v to the solenoid and nothing happened so unless Im missing something I think the problem is with the solenoid.
