Does the company accept these cartridges to recycle? Or is this another item to add to our overflowing landfills? Appreciate any knowledge or suggestions.
The activated carbon can be considered good for the environment. It's essentially charcoal. As for the plastic outer packaging, you should have considered the environmental impact of that during your purchase decision...
For more details of my ordeal: unclekenta.blogspot.com How to remove a very old corroded stuck Moen bath shower faucet cartridge. WARNING: Use ...
I just replaced my replacement cartridge on my price pfister 526-50xx faucet. When I turn on the water supply no water comes out of the faucet. The instructions very easy to handle so I'm a little confused.
Check the instructions again carefully.
It's possible that you placed the cartridge in reverse, in which case, turn it 1/2 turn and reinsert it.
i have just changed the cartridge in my bath tub faucet. I actually changed both hot and cold water. It now works, but the water pressure is very low. Then I wanted to check with the sink faucets so I tried putting the new cartridges in, same issue, then I put the old ones in thinking that at least the sink would be working fine, but I have the same low pressure issue. My faucets are Sovereign, I paid a bundle for them... Any help would be appreciated.
This question has a lot of variables to it,,,,It depends on if you have hard or soft water? if you have rust stains that show up in your sinks you have hard water, with this I'd say change your cartridge every month, Some faucet mounted filters have a built in gauge to show you when to change the cartridge, refer to the Manual that came with it to see if it does have this feature, and yes it may be wise to change the whole faucet mounted system when its due because some of the cartridges can be expensive!~!!!.
I have a Moen single-handle Posi-Temp shower faucet. After replacing my water heater and turning the water back on, there was significant water hammer when I turned on the shower faucet. After that, the water is no longer off when the handle is at six o'clock; instead it shuts off at three o'clock. Turning it all the way counter-clockwise is no longer warm enough. Could the water hammer have turned the 1222 cardridge inside the valve? If so, do I just need to remove the cartridge, realign and reinstall it in the valve so that six o'clock is the shutoff position again? Or does the cartridge need to be replaced? Note that it is not leaking -- just misaligned.
No water hammer would not rotate the cartridge. But is it possible the attaching screw has become loose betweent he henadle and the cartridge?
Also the hammer may have loosened up some crud in the valve body/cartridge. I'd pull it (carefully) clean and reinstall.

A Few Handy Tips On Replacing Bathtub Faucets @ Bones
In case your faucet is dripping or leaking for some time then it is time to replace bathtub faucets .
Simple as it may sound there’re a couple of factors you need to look in to while replacing it.
Follow the ideas given here and bathtub faucet replacement will be a fairly easy task.
Faucets enable water flowing in pipes to be used in controlled manner. Typically almost all bathtubs have either two valve or 3 valve faucets.
They start dripping or leaking when their washers become corroded and stiff. Water pressure adds to hasten this process. In most earlier design faucets there used to be neoprene or rubber washers. In most newer systems cartridge is utilized in place of washers.
It’s almost always necessary to buy a correct faucet. Faucets come in a wide range of styles and sizes. When you must replace a faucet it’s necessary to take a precise measurement of holes centre to centre. Style is optional but size isn’t.
