I think it's Zach Braff. I also found a website that confirmed it, finally, after searching forever for one.

It's the one with the chorus of girls singing a really beautiful song. I'm also wondering if the video is anywhere online...
Was it Pur or was it for Brita? I looked on adtunes.com and found this thread about a Brita commercial, and it sounded like it may be the one you're describing: http://adtunes.com/forums/index.php?show topic=37436&hl=water+filter

Retains beneficial fluoride in water while reducing chlorine taste and odor
This TV commercial in the U.S. does not feature a lot of conversation. It is mostly visual with sound effects. But the noise that is most attention-getting is the one at the end where they are pouring crystal clear water into a pitcher or big glass of some sort. The glass or pitcher is hollow in the beginning, so the sound is unmistakable as it fills and the pitch goes up. You know without looking that something nearby is being filled with a liquid. But when I hear it, I swear it sounds like a guy standing in my bathroom doing his business at the bowl and I think, "WHO IS THAT?!! Who forgot to CLOSE THE DARN DOOR?" And I laugh because I realize it's a commercial.
But now I associate Brita water with another kind of liquid I certainly don't want to imbibe, 'ya know? And I wonder if psychologically, this advertising is working counter to Brita's intentions to imprint people with visions of crystal clarity. Now when I think of Brita, I think of YELLOW water versus clear (smiles).
I know that makes no sense, but that sound is so unmistakable, I think someone in the advertising department missed something there in the commercial review before airing...or else the audio guy did a overly zealous job and has a sense of humor or is a practical joker if no-one else can identify how similar that sound is.
So does this Brita commercial remind YOU of....er, uh..."whizzing"...too.?
I haven't seen the advert and it may not make everyone feel the same way but I do agree that adverts can be manipulative, trying to control the way we think.

This is so cheezy, but I love the backround music on the brita commercial--any chance of knowing what it is? Thanks!

We buy water filters - e.g. Britta filters. We use them once and then throw them away. That can't be good for the environment.
Is there any way to refresh the contents to extend the life of the filter? Aren't commercial filters refreshed with saline?
No. The water filter contains activated charcoal.
This adsorbs and absorbs impurities in the water.
Although commercial filters are refreshed with saline, they rely on an ion exchange resin to remove the calcium hardness in water.
But the charcoal filter does a similar action but cannot be refreshed in the same way.
