Oh no, I haven't made Starbucks coffee at home because I prefer to go to the establishment itself where the atmosphere is more conducive to enjoying the superb drinks served and complementing it with a serving or two of their mouth watering pastries and other delicious snacks. You can't get this well-rounded breath-taking experience at home where you're isolated from the excitement awaiting you at Starbucks.

What's better for the environment? A Keurig one-cup coffee maker or an old-fashioned Mr. Coffee machine?

Probably about 10 cups a day are drank in the office.

While the Keurig only powers up for each cup, it does keep water heated within it for preparation. It also uses disposable K-cups for each use.

The Mr. Coffee brews the 10 cups all at once, but would be left on for 8 hours straight. Disposed of would be one paper filter. (Or, perhaps for freshness, two brews would take place.)

In any case, which is better for the environment?

I like my Mr. Coffee. I've heard a lot of complaints about the Keurig, that they don't last long enough for the money they cost. If you are unfortunate enough to have it go out after the warranty is up, the only thing you can do is throw it out and that in itself fills up the landfills. Based on that alone, Mr. Coffee is better for the environment. I've had mine for about 10 yrs.

here is the way to get starbucks quality coffee at home try it do you agree?

1 empty and clean your old coffee maker
2 buy and fresh grind and seal in bag 1/2 decent coffee
3 place the coffee in the coffee urn
4 place purified water into the mr coffee heat the water and let it drip into the urn
5 allow the coffee to sink to the bottom of the urn
6 filter the coffee

I agree with commercialism... I prefer the $1.00 variety of cappachinos with FREE extras; cream, sugar, liquid flavor creamers, cinnamon, etc.. at my local Race Track, or Quick trip, then a $5.00 one at Starbucks!! But then again I'm not a big coffee buff either!! :)

how to use mr. coffee coffee pot?

ok i have my ground coffee ready in its filter and i poured the water in but where the filter goes there is two things. one goes inside the pot and there is another thing that goes in it. do i put the coffee under the extra one with hte little hole or over it????

From your description, it sounds like the piece with the hole is the lid that goes over the filter. It's there to guide the water to the grounds without splashing.

The filter & coffee go inside the bottom half of that setup.

One tip for better coffee:
Auto drip coffee makers aren't very good at making less than a full pot. So if you use less grounds, it will probably get bitter.
