Do you have an under sink water filter?
Culligan US-600A Under Sink Drinking Water Filter

I want to purchase an under sink filter that has the best tasting water. Please comment on under sink water filters you have tried. Again, my goal is the best tasting water possible. That is more important than cost although I'm not sure that the most expensive models give the best taste.

I had an under sink filter but it was a pain to change the filter, nor was the water that good. I now have a Brita, on faucet, filter... it installs easily, easy to change and the water tastes fine. I imagine some under sink filters work better though.

Can you remove and reinsert the tubing that connects an under sink water filter to the sink top spout?
IMG_7573

I have a Whirlpool under the sink water filter system. The spout on top of the sink has become loose, but to tighten the wing nuts holding it on, I need to remove the tube coming from the filter. Can I remove the tube and reinsert it without losing the seal?

It connects by pushing the tube in and it automatically locks in place.

The Whirlpool washer coupler takes the place of the belt that is used on the older style washers. If your washer does not agitate or spin, there is a good chance the coupler is broke. The best way to change the coupler is to remove the cabinet. This is easier then it sounds. The first thing you need to do (after disconnecting the power) is to loosen the control panel, in my opinion visit the website it will help because in this website I search the industrial water treatment plants so if you were interested visit the website which is given below.

Anybody got an under sink water filter?

I'm thinking of investing in an under sink water filter that you need a plumber to fit, one that removes nitrates etc. I've read that they make the water softer too. Has anybody got any recommendations. I think you have to replace it every 12 months and you get a partial refund. Any advice appreciated!

We have a Springflow system on our kitchen sink.

It's a special tap (the hot works as usual, but the cold turns both ways - forward for normal water and backwards for filtered water), plus the filter unit that sits under the sink. With ours, the filter is replaced every six months, at a cost of £22.

The water definitely tastes better and it is softer (we live in a hard water area). I'd definitely recommend it.

My under-sink water filter stopped working when I replaced the filters. Why?

I have a GE Smartwater under-sink filter that's about two years old. The last time I replaced the filter cartridges, the flow of water was reduced to a trickle. Thinking the new cartridges might be defective, I tried putting the old cartridges back on, but it still barely worked.

The water flows at full pressure for a fraction of a second, then narrows to a trickle. I actually get a little more water by keeping the filter supply line's shut-off valve at about halfway, but it still takes forever to fill up a glass. There are no leaks and the filter cartridges are on properly.

Is there a way to fix this, or is the filter unit itself worn out?

Unscrew the screen filter on the tip end of the faucet and rinse it out.

Many times when working on plumbing debris is dislodged and clogs up that screen.

Best under sink reverse osmosis filter w/ tank?

I'm looking to get an under sink RO filter but I'm not sure which to go with (for the best price).

A 3 to 5 gallon reservoir is plenty, the water is only for drinking or coffee. I don't need 100 GPD or anything like that.

I got he hydrotech RO system http://www.hydrotechwater.com/Reverse%20 Osmosis/1240_e_series.htm

I put it by the washing machine and run a hose to the sink and one hose to the refrigerator. The water store I got it from had all the connections I needed and I still have room under my sink and it is a little cleaner feeling when I drink because under the sink is kind of dirty feeling to me.

I put two tanks on the system because in the summer we drink a lot of water and the system takes I think 6 hours to make one gallon of water so instead of 3 gallons I have 6. The one reason I put it by the clothes washer is 1) it is on the other side of the wall as the refrigerator. 2) because it feels cleaner to me and 3) because these systems have a waist water pipe that needs to be put into a drain pipe so I just run that hose right into the washer drain pipe instead of monkeying with the sink drain pipe.

I hope I was helpful. have a great day

? There are many types of water filtration devices that can be used to filter out the things that are in the water that can be bad for the body. While drinking water is required to keep a healthy body there are additives and other chemicals in the water that are bad for the body. Some of these include chlorine and fluoride. Children need a small amount of fluoride for healthy teeth however too much can cause major dental problems in children. Using water filtration devices can reduce the risks that are involved in drinking water. Not only does it reduce the risks of health related problems it also makes the water taste better.

Since there are many types of water filtration devices on the market it can sometimes be difficult to choose which one is best for you. There are pitchers that filter the water and require frequent changes in the filter inside, there are inline filters that require changing once every six months as well as costly extra water line and professional installment,...

How to Choose an Under Sink Water Filter

Water from the tap in the kitchen is the most important source of water that we use to drink and cook our daily meals thus the kitchen sink is where most households install their under sink water filter. There are plenty of under sink water filters available on the market and most of them are equipped with filtration systems that claim to be able to purify tap water. Water that is processed by these under sink water filters appears to be clear and clean, safe for consumption and cooking purposes. Well, I believe most of these under sink water filters can reduce or may be able to remove the majority of the four categories of contaminants found in tap water such as Microbial Pathogens (bacteria and parasites), Organics (volatile organic chemicals and THMs), Inorganics (arsenic, chromium, lead and mercury) and Radioactive Elements (decay of uranium in soils and rocks).

If every under sink water filter was of similar specifications and able to produce the same quality of water, there would be nothing to compare. The question here is, “Why are these under sink water filters being sold at different prices?” The simple answer is, these are different products being manufactured by different companies, each with different specifications for their water filter cartridges which in turn affects the cost.
