there is a water purification system named 'pureit' in India which claims to provide water without viruses and bacteria, comes with a germ kill battery i am not able to understand principle behind its calim killing bacteria and even viruses without having ultravoilet or reverse osmosis treatment. how does it kill the organisms in water?

The current machine has UV and Active Carbon filtration.
The machine is Eureka Forbes' and is a 10 yr old model.
Just in general, should i opt for a repair, or get a new system with 6 step RO purification??
The water used is North Delhi's (India). and is soft water.
All suggestions will be duly appreciated!

I'm not sure about either. If UV treatment creates ozone as a byproduct, that would not be healthy to breath. If not, I would say stay with the carbon.

RO systems do take everything out of the water both good and bad. It leaves you with what some would call hungry water. The water wants to find the mineral balance that it lost. When you drink it, it finds the minerals inside of you and pulls them from you. The water is also acidic. If there is a way in the 6 step process to counter act these problems, it should be ok.

After some research, the system I went with adds energy and minerals back to the water after going through a fine filtration process, the same as a kidney dialysis machine.

Building a home in the Philippines which is powered by solar power, has a 30m deep well, and rainwater collection system.

The water scares me to drink and I'm wondering the best way to purify it.

My first thought is boiling it or at least heating it

But also thinking ozone, activated carbon, sand filtration, UV light, etc, etc.

Water is being kept in a cistern and still working out all the plumbing...

Any ideas would be appreciated

kamusta? have your water sample check by a lab first, then decide on what purification system needed. Who knows you might not need those power consuming apparatus.
If you do need one, i can refer you a water mineral pot (water purifier -gravity type -and making it alkaline for good health)

I am building a rainwater purification system for a completely sustainable prototype house. I want to use an indoor living or green wall for the microbial filtration, but I am having difficulty figuring out what other filtration is needed.

I know that rainwater is pretty clean after the initial pollutants are washed from the roof... Right now im thinking of having gutters guards for leaves and big debris and then running all of this water through pretreatment of a sand filter like this

form there running it through the green wall to further purify and than maybe UV? is that needed?

The more complicated the more likely it will contain potentially harmful bacteria. Simple is always better. With any drinking water source it should be regularly checked for safety reasons. Yes you should check public water too. The good thing is Water Test Kits are cheap and could save you and your family lives.
