I've got a bad habit of opening a bottle of water, drinking less than half and leaving it somewhere, then forgetting about it and opening a new one.
I understand after a couple days (especially if left uncapped) this is an all-inclusive party for bacteria growth.
Rather than throwing these half-consumed bottles of water, would an effective treatment be to run them through my PUR or Brita Water pitcher in the fridge?
you could boil the water if you were that fearful....
This video shows how to make a filter using a plastic water bottle and some items from nature. This is only for cleaning not purifing!
check it out. the under the sink called the reverse osmosis filters cost $499 include install and tax comes with the carbon filter which you have to unscrew and put in new filter every six months. and the other one costs $599 with install and tax. with this one , you throw away the whole filter unlike the carbon filter one. which one is better. also there the whole house filter which comes with water softener and the under the sink filter for $2000 with tax and install. any suggestions or opinions are appreciated. thanks.
why not just get a water filter that attaches to your faucet>? they are like 25=30 bucks at walmart or target. the one I bought today was $30 and it will filter 300 gallons of water before I have to replace it.

i want to buy a cheap filter and it costs around 30 pounds and filters last about a month and cost 5 pounds. im wondering if i should just buy bottled water
I would go for the filter, but look around first as I didn't pay that much for mine.
BPA-free; non-leaching lead-free High-quality food grade 304 L.N. stainless steel

Just wondering if you can put the lemonade or propell packets into the filtering water bottles or will it filter it out too.
you sure can crystal light has the packet for that
Everyone has different taste buds but I recommend it. I drink the city tap water through my Clear2Go bottle and it tastes as good as the water coming from our reverse osmosis system. I wanted something that would free me from buying bottled water while on the go. Now I just find a water fountain and I am set. I have had it for three weeks and I haven't had to change the filter yet.

...Eco Note - What#39;s in your water? ~ Shrimp Salad Circus
Shrimp Salad Circus is Lindsay & Marion. We graduated from Alabama together (cue obligatory "Roll Tide"), trekked a small portion of the world for a bit, and are now sadly located several states apart. We've both lost countless hours scouring thrift store after thrift store looking for God-knows-what and have accumulated more vintage whatnots (purses, mainly) than we'd probably be comfortable admitting. We're working together on an Etsy shop and just randomly rambling our way through this blog. On that note, let's just focus on the unsettling substance on hand at the moment - atrazine. This weed killer is constantly leaked into the water supply from farms and the like, but in the past it was thought to be a nominal amount that couldn't hurt us. However, that is evidently no longer the case. New research says that it may be harmful to us and even cause birth defects next year. It seems almost negligent to ignore data indicative of a potential health threat, but...
