I am looking for a water filter to put on my sink faucet. Does anyone know what filter is the best for removing chemicals, especially chlorine and flouride?

The absolute best system is the eSpring system and is a purification system, not a filter. It is the highest rated system on the market and only a distillery can get water cleaner. It not only is much, much better than a basic filter such as Britta or Pur but by year two is actually cheaper too.

Fluoride however will not be removed. It is not considered a contaminate so no home filter or purification system will remove it. The only thing that removes fluoride is a distillery. They are very expensive to buy and run, and are messy to maintain.

I forget the type of filter, but on the top part (before the filter) tons of little black things keep coming out of it. This happens for all the filters even brand new. I noticed sometimes very small ones can get into my filtered water. What is this substance and is it safe?

It's just charcoal that is used for the initial filtering process. It is harmless.

why is that. it looks like a white dust in the water. If you let it set for a few minutes it will almost completely dissolve. I'd like to know what that is, and if its bad to drink.

the water filter is supposed to be really sophisticated, and be of better quality than arrowhead bottled water.

If the filter is new, it's probably washing off some of the filter media that is hanging which will eventually disappear after several use.

However, if the filter has been used long enough that it needs replacement, your water may be recontaminated by the chemicals it's suppose to remove. It's called "breakthrough."

If the filter pore is too clogged, filtered water may not be able to pass through but instead wash off those contaminants into your supposedly filtered water.

So, it's better to change your filter as recommended.

Im looking for a bigger fast responding water filter for my house. i heard that reverse osmosis purifier is a good one but, i want to hear some real experiences.

The water from the public supply line is full of sediments and very turbid. It cannot be used for washing utensils or clothes. A simple filtration is required atleast the water can be used for washing and for drinking as well.

They sell a small inline water filter at Lowe's or Home Depot that's about the size of a tea pitcher. It"s a heavy plastic like material that will hold a filter. There are many types of filters that you can buy depending on what you're trying to remove from the water. You simply change the filter about every 3-6 months, they only cost a couple dollars a piece.
