what is difference between RO system and water purifier system? Which is the better of the two?
RO system is also a water purifier. But for commercial purpose it has been separated. In RO system a membrane is used to remove salts and minerals and even bacteria by reverse osmosis(RO). The product can be water with minimum salt and total solid. Since body requires many minerals- care is required that purified water contains these. Newer models include a gadget to refurbish with required minerals. The water purifier system is then a series of filters which filter out the suspended particles and color followed by killing the bacteria by UV light or removing them by use of another membrane. In this SYSTEM, the total solids in water remain unchanged. It will not change the taste of water. In RO system more water is consumed and taste may be different. All said and done- boiling water is still the best way to kill bacteria after proper filtration.

Hope it helps.
Maybe you know someone with a distiller and do they find the water IS much better then tap water.
i have been looking for a cheap and affordable waterwise for long time. itshould distill tap water and be able to produce the distilled water. no carbon filters reverse osmosis etc. etc. Yahoo auctions is crap. There is nothing like Ebay. Bidz is crap also. I wonder why there isnt another Ebay?
DO they save money like for example, if i buy a gallon of water each day.. would it cost me more to buy a gallon each day at the store for a dollar... or have one of those water purifier systems????
They definitely save money -- you can get a lot more water for your dollar with a filter than you can buying it at the store. And the filters I've used work pretty well, as long as you change them often enough.
The drawbacks are convenience related rather than economical. Some people just don't want to go to the trouble of filling up pitchers of water from the tap and waiting for them to get cold in the fridge... or they don't want to stand there waiting while their glass fills (water comes out of the filter more slowly than out of the regular tap). But these are picky concerns, and will only matter if you need a *really* convenient life.
I just came across article which says RO system is not good for health. So I need the fact for clarification. Anybody can help?

DRDO has set up a stall at the DEFEXPO focusing on equipments used in low intensity conflicts for the first time.
Defence Research and Development Organisation is providing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), micro air vehicles (MAVs), ground penetration radars, foliage penetration radars and other weapons to the paramilitary forces and the state police forces to fight against the Maoists and other extremists.
“Focus of warfare has shifted towards low intensity conflict, what we have been observing for last few years. So we thought that DRDO should focus on supporting the role of paramilitary forces in strengthening their cause in fighting internal conflicts,” said Dr. K Sekhar, DRDO’s Chief Controller research and development for low intensity conflict technologies.
Dr. Sekhar said on Thursday that a core team has been framed by DRDO, which will develop technologies in next 1-4 years to meet the requirements of security forces in fighting counter insurgency and the Maoists.
