I have well water and want to use a filter system to attach to my faucet. Does any one know which one might be better? Thanks
i have a brita, but I think they're pretty much the same. I noticed the Pur filters are a bit cheaper though.

You should have a borehole pump and then I would suggest fitting a header tank above the pump. You can get a float switch in the tank to get the pump to fill it when it goes low. If you make the tank high enough (I would say about 10 feet) you will get enough pressure. Then you can fit your filter on the wall outside your house at the incoming point to the house and connect it to the tank with a pipe.
Option two will be to run from the pump to the filter and have a presseure switch on the line if the pressure goes low the pump will come on. Otherwise you can fit a paddle flow switch on the water line and if the tap opens the water will flow and the pump will come on.
My gran and my sister had the water header or reservoir system and my sister had the filter on the wall.
has anyone purchased either a PURETECH 3000 or THE ERADICATOR by Pentair? i'm looking for a relatively inexpensive whole house filtering system for my well water. i found these two on ebay.

which is the best whole house water filtration system to use? what should i be looking for?

I also have a well and live in Rural Georgia. I use the GE Super Filtration filter (from Lowes). I put a seperate one on my kitchen sink and refrigerator ice maker just as a second stage. The GE Super Filtration filter cost $50 and the other inline ones were $25 each. Each area of the country have different filtration requirements as to what you want to keep out of your water. Some companies want to sell you ionization process filters. My first suggestion is to take a clean water sample to your county extension agent or health department and get them to test it. My main filter is to keep out sediment.
I'm looking into maybe buying a small air purifier from say Thermax, and am seeing negative reviews. Are there any solid benefits to water filtration? I'd like to get as much information as I can, as I can't seem to find an actual air quality specialist with no biases to contact.

The state Environment Department will issue a second violation notice to Bernalillo in the coming week, Drinking Water Bureau compliance manager Mike Huber told town officials and engineers Tuesday at a meeting held in the Department’s Rio Rancho field office.
“We’ll be issuing another violation to Bernalillo for Well 4,” Huber said, referring to one of the Town’s two currently used wells. The Department already issued a violation notice for the Town’s other active well , Well 3, last week.
A sample of water from Well 4 collected by the Department Dec. 1, 2009 had an arsenic concentration of 37 parts per billion, narrowly missing an “instant violation” threshold of 40 parts per billion, Huber said. Combined with other samples taken earlier in 2009, the finding brought the average arsenic concentration above 10 parts per billion, the maximum allowed under state and federal regulations.
