I am thinking of adding a hydrogen peroxide water treatment system to my Home.I found some info on them but my main concern is if it is safe for drinking?Is it safe to use bleach to toilets?Is it safe to use ammonia to wash floors? The system I am looking into installing is an injection system which injects 20% hydrogen into the water lines when the well kicks in.

Hydrogen peroxide is a well-known oxidizing biocide and oxidant that is effective in many water treatment applications and is environmentally benign.only water and oxygen are byproducts.

We live out in the county and have well water. The past few days our water has had a very bad sulfur smell. We have a water treatment system in the house that pulls out the iron and other metals and gets rid of the sulfur smell. But the smell has been coming through the last few days. The odd part is when I go outside the air smells the same as the water. Once you get to the end of the driveway you can't smell it anymore. What is causing this? How can I fix it?

if you live in the country do you have propane? an under ground leak can contaminate everything, eventually coming up thur the ground. the further you get from the leak you won't smell it, the septic answer is good also

I am considering use water that uses chlorinated tablets. We are concerned about chemicals absorbed into the plants as well as other microbacterial presence in the water . Would the it be safe to eat?
This is an aerobic waste water system for the home. Not gray water or from a large sewage plant. I don't want opinions please give me facts

yes its extremely safe. Waste water treatment plants really clean the water - they say its safe enough to drink, but I wouldnt do that

We have discovered a build up of setiment in the backs of all 3 of our toilets BUT both hot and cold water at all of our sinks seem clear. We have an expensive water treatment system in our garage. I remember last summer after we had sprinklered, the water appeared to have a yellow tinge to it so I assumed we had gotten to the bottom of one of the tanks. We are again sprinkling and since it is again occurring in the summer, could it be because our well is not accumulating water fast enough for sprinkling and we are pumping sand?We get 10 gallons a minute.

You could have a combination of problems.... heavy use, and sediment.

An 'expensive' water treatment system, doesnt necessarily include sediment removal. Do you have a sediment filter in place? If not, you should install one, before the water treatment system. (This will also help the water treatment system performance)

If you have a shallow well, then using a sprinkler could very well use up your water supply, and take a while to replenish. You might try changing the time when you use the sprinkler... like to late evening, after usual laundry/bath times, but giving you the night hours to help replenish the stock, before morning use picks up.

I'd seriously consider putting in a shallow well just for the sprinkler system. I hope you are currently running the sprinkler system on water that bypasses your treatment system, heheh.... There's no point in using the treatment system on water that is going to the lawn.

You may also want to consider having a new deep well installed. If you find you are running low on water, this is the best solution, though the most expensive.

Our home originally came with a shallow well. We got a lot of lime/sand, and had to have a new well installed. The original well was about 60 feet deep, we think... that seems to have been the common depth around here, we found when talking to the neighbors. The new well was put in at 300ft deep, steel cased almost the whole length. We had water at just a few inches from the top of the well head, before we even dropped the pump in. We get about 35 gallons per minute, hehe.. and have never run it dry. The going rate for a well install in this area, at this depth, is about $5000 to $8000. It may be more or less in your area.

If you have to have a new well installed, take time to check with your local Rural Development office of the USDA. For those who qualify, you can get a 1% loan for 30 years....for a $5k well install, thats about $25 a month.
