If I buy a water softener that has a built in whole house water filter, do I need to remove the filter on my water dispenser on my refridgerator so that my water isn't 'too' filtered? Someone told me that and I find that hard to believe, so I'm coming to the experts for advice. Thanks!

I need to insulate a whole house water filter. I am going to be taking the water filter outdoors. How can i protect the water filter fron weather conditions? How do i insulate a while house water filter?
I would build a box for it and insulate the pipes with either heat tape or some good insulation and insulate the box with lots of fiberglass.
You'd have to make it so no water gets in there.
Maybe use some old roofing on top to match the house.
I'm looking for a water filtration solution that works as well as water distilliation -- a single unit or multiple units that remove *EVERYTHING* from the water.
I have inquired Polar Bear distillers about whether their systems could be used on a whole house and they told me that they could not -- is this true? Couldn't multiple distillers, or distillers linked to larger storage tanks be used together?
What are some of the products out there and how can these products be installed and/or linked together? Can you use a softener, a Reverse-Osmosis and a UV filter all at once, for instance? Are there systems that do all of this without having to "chain" them together?

I put in a Rayne system to do just this. It can be used with a Reverse Osmosis and UV filter at the same time. They are expensive units, but mine came with a lifetime warranty. Glad it did, too, because my pressure regulator blew the tank and even though it was caused by something outside of the unit, they replaced it for free.

I wish I never bought the crazy thing. it has a prefilter on it I do know how to change except I'm afraid I will bust the pex and want to know if there is an easy way to fix it. its pretty simple. turn off the main water. there should be a pressure release button. then unscrew the filter

I don’t know the two brands you mentioned but this is dependant on the water condition in your area. Choose your purifier for the water you have. e.g. an osmosis system is the filter with one of the highest purification but if you don’t need it, don’t use it because it it inefficient. it uses over double the water that it produces.
Check which best suits your water. That’s more important than brand.
