how do i get rid of the green and stop it doing it again when i cover it for the winter
Water clarity depends on three things.
1/ Proper water chemistry: Ph 7.2 -7.6, Cl 1.5 -3.0 and Ta 80-120. If one of these is off, your pool will go green or cloudy. Fix it and there's no issue. You don't mentio what your readings are nor pool volume so I can't help there.
2/ Filtration: Clean the filter at least on a weekly basis, more often when you get into an issue that you have now.
3? Keep the pool itself clean. Vac it. Stuff lying on the bottom eats up your chlorine reserves in the water. It costs you money.
That's it in a nutshell. It's easy to keep a pool crystal with a little attention in the week. You let it slide just one day and ...it costs you money to fix and time. Get your chemistry dealt with now, before you cover. Once it's good go ahead and close the pool. The chemicals you toss in from a typical winterizing kit will keep the pool pristine all winter as long as your cover stays on.

Is there any way, other than replacing the liner, to remove algea stains from the bottom of an above ground pool? The water is clean and the pool is free of algea, yet the liner has been stained from previous exposure to algea.
Have you tried algecide. It comes in gallon jugs. If that doesn't work get that scrub brush out.

I've noticed that on my above ground pool, that there is approx. 1/2 to 3/4 inches in water level from one side to the other side. Somewhere the posts on one side may have settled some. Is there aproblem with that? Please send reply to Sedgewood1@aol.com.

It's time to take down the above-ground pool, but what can I do with the chlorinated water? A horticulturist told me that it would probably harm my lawn & flowers. Any suggestions?
If you test your water after a couple days without adding chlorine, you will probably find the level very low or non-existant. I have always drained the pool onto the yard and garden area.
The Pool is and intex 15x48 and comes with its own filter. Can I use this filter and use salt water?
