i checked my chlorine level and it is perfect. my PH level is perfect.And i am constantly running the filter, but the water is still very cloudy. sometimes it even has somewhat of a real light green tint to it. any suggestions would be helpful. thanks!

Filter not working properly.Sand filter-new pool filter sand needed or dial valve /multiport valve malfuction or wrong position.Cartridge filter-need new element.D.E. filter-need to replace d.e.Try this first -inspect filter to the extent you are able depending on your type of filter,then add 2 large coffee cans of diatomaceous earth(D.E.),available at pool store or sometimes in pool stuff at lowes/home depot,pour D.E.(2 coffee cans)in suction line(skimmer/vac line),then run filter 24 hours a day.Meanwhile,shock pool with 1lb. of cal-hypo granules(calcium hypochlorite)per 1000 gallons of pool water or use 1 gallon of cheap bleach per 1000 gallons(i.e. 30lbs.cal-hypo or 30 gallons bleach for 30,000 gal.pool).cal-hypo from pool store or intheswim.com or /bleach from wal-mart.Brush pool walls and floor with 18" pool brush that fits pole.Please match the info that applies to your setup.

I have a 18 ft. x 4 ft. pop-up pool. We put it up this weekend. I added 1/5 of a gallon of algaecide as preventative maintenance, added 1 inch chlorine tablets in the cartridge filter, and I also used one packet of shock treatment to prepare the water. Are these amounts enough for a pool of this size? I tested the pH and I think I have to raise it. Any other preventative maintenance tips? Last year I had a heck of a time keeping it clear and want to make sure the pool doesn't turn out like that again. Thanks for your help.

Well first off you need to get exact readings of your water chemistry. Without accurate readings it's a guessing game. You can take a sample of the water down to your local pool store and they will test it for you, then post the results back here.

Unfortunately the way your question there isn't enough information to make a 100% accurate suggestion on what you need to do to the pool.

We have scrubbed and scrubbed but it won't come off. We can see the bottom of the pool clearly and we think the green is just the color on the sides and bottom. Is there a chemical that will work?

Could the liner really be green? (They do sell them in that color.) If it's green above the water line, do nothing.

Take a water sample to the pool store and have them test the sample. They'll probably recommend shocking the pool with chlorine and adding stabilizer to adjust the water color and eliminate the green tint. The pool stores sell a liquid chemical that makes the water sparkling clear/blue.

well my pool is green and i tried everything to make my swimming pool nice a clear, but its still a little green to the point where i cant see the bottom of the pool. i searched up some way to get it clean and clear but i cant seem to find a solution.

check your levels.. make sure your pH is below 7.2.. add a liquid chlorine.. once the green is gone it will be cloudy.. add a clarifier.. adjust your levels and enjoy!

Bought new testing agents ODO. Upon opening filled 1/3 of pool with hose water. I was told to shock again and I did and today, still 0 chorine read. Had pool for 7 years. Never a problem before.

add some chlorine stabilizer and shock again, and check chlorine levels tomorrow
