A Pool care company fills their "pool water" truck tank with a fire hydrant nearmy street weekly. is it legal?
Little girl in inflatable waistcoat

I personally don't find it legal for them to fill up their trucks tank using town water from a fire hydrant advertising it as "swimming pool water" He does this like every day.

Could it be possible that the town sells this water to this company and it is perfectly legal? Or maybe they are selling it illegally but they know about it??

if you see the guy filling up look for a meter it will be about 12-18 inches long and goes on the hydrant. If he doesn't have this then he is stealing the cities water. If he has the meter that is how they charge him for the water. This is how construction water trucks fill up. If you see him start to fill without the meter call the police he is committing a crime. The city should eventually find out because that is a lot of water missing. I think if people are having their pool filled with water from this truck thinking it is special water they are fools, unless they add chemicals to the water before pumping it in the pool. It is probably used to fill the pool faster for convenience not as special pool water.

How to precautiously take care of our skin before going to chlorinated water in swimming pool? ?
Little girl in inflatable waistcoat

I came to know that chlorinated water of the swimming pool will decolor our skin and make the melanin pigments more.. How to get rid of this problem.. Please suggest...

Did you hear this from a dermatologist? If you "came to know" something so scientific, it must have been from from someone practicing medicine.

I own a small pool business and when a swimming pool is maintained properly (1-3ppm free chlorine), there is no harm to the skin.

If chlorine levels exceed (10ppm) (*ppm= parts per million), there is potential for hair and skin damage.

Suggestions for precautionary methods. 1. Make sure to rinse off before using a pool, then shower with soap after using a pool. 2. If you're really concerned, purchase chlorine test strips at your local pool supply store and take them with you to the pool. 3. Limit the amount of time you spend in the water.

Hope this helps.

Why is my pool water still green?
(Untitled)

I bought a pool last summer. All summer we treated the pool and took care of it well. During the colder months we covered the pool and just left it not really treating it at all. About a month and a half ago I started treating it again. I get it tested every week and buy all the right chemicals and put it in and I keep the filter running 6 hours a day. After a month and a half the water is still green! Its maybe one less shade than it was when I first started. I would refill it but that would be too expensive. Someone please help!

How can you maintain the water in an inflatable pool?
SPRAY TAN or UV TANNING

We purchased an inflatable pool for our family. It is not huge; the "swim" area is 8ft by 4 ft and it holds 289 gallons of water. It does not have a pump. Obviously with that much water I don't wan't to change the water often. We have a debris cover and we have a net to catch stray debris. I also purchased some pool shock for these types of pools. Now, even with all our care the water is still murky. How can I maintain the water?

Murky water is caused by burnout of chlorine in the pool water. Hot sunny days will dissipate the chlorine too. Pool water that is stagnant can become full of bacteria. If rain water gets into the pool water, it effects the pH of the water.

A liquid shock product is better than the tabs because there is no pump to circulate the water. Tabs that come in contact with the pool can erode the bottom.

Any pool store can test the pH of the water. Their analysis will state what chemicals are needed.

  • Should Late Night Swimming at Christie Pits Pool be City Sanctioned?

Pool-hopping happens every year. The weather gets hot, the civic pools close, and the young people seek the thrill of hopping fences and sneaking in for an unsanctioned cool-down.

The tragic drowning of a 16-year-old Thornhill pool-hopper last week has brought the topic back into the news. The Toronto Star wrote a piece about poolhopping on August 26th, posting an incendiary amateur video of mostly young, topless women cavorting at the Christie Pits pool after hours.

I caught up with two self-proclaimed pool-hoppers this week for their side of the story; let's call them 'Venessa' and 'Mark'. They were both at Christie Pits on the fateful night of the video; Mark even appears in the footage.

"It was around 2am on a Friday when we got to the pool," Venessa begins. "When I arrived there was a lot of people there...more than expected. At least twenty of them. Girls were taking off their tops. A few people were naked. Not all of us anticipated swimming that night, so not everyone had towels or bathing suits.

Baby Names amp; Family Issues Blog » Blog Archive » Waterbirth – A ...

While my hubby cools my head with cloths soaked in ice water, I grasp on to the railings of the birth pool and let the water take my weight.

I’m afloat without a care in the universe, except when the contractions come but even then the pain is less because no gravity is affecting my body.

I’m a water person, I love everything about water and the thought of giving birth in water was a natural advancement from that. No need for drugs, the water is the only form of pain relief I need.

The water enables you to move and get into positions that you couldn’t otherwise. You are floating so can turn with comfort. You use less energy too as everything appears to be floating, you feel like you’re on drugs but you’re not! And for the baby too it is much better as you are relaxed so the baby has an smoothertransition out.

The procedure of moving from the womb into the world is less nerve-racking for the baby with a water birth. He spends 9 months in water(amniotic fluid) and when born slides into the water of the birthing pool.
