The pool is a intex above ground 24'x12'x48" and holds about 5,400gal of water. I put pool start-up chems in, chlorine tabs and had the filter running and it has not cleared up. Had to clean the filter 2 times already, was real brown. Some body told me to put household bleach in but nothing, what can i do?
Check the pool start-up chemicals you bought. Did it include packages of shock? (They usually do). If so, was it chlorine-based shock or oxygen-based shock? The chlorine-based shock is the strongest so if the water is brown because it is stagnant or dirty then go get some chlorine shock and put it in!
I would NOT recommend putting in household bleach, especially with your chlorine tablets running in there. Mixing chlorine and bleach, though they seem similar, can have an effect on your health (especially if you breathe in the gas they can create). If you want to give it the effect of putting bleach in it, USE CHLORINE-BASED SHOCK.
If your other levels are okay (alkalinity, pH, chlorine) then it could be due to mineral deposits in the water. You should then buy a mineral stain and scale remover and pour in the recommended dosage into your pool. Fill an old water bottle with water from about a foot and a half under the surface of your pool, and bring it into your local pool store to get your levels tested. They can tell you a more accurate reading than just strip tests can at home. Plus most stores offer it for free.
Remember, always give your pool at least 12 hours after you shock it before you go swimming in it, when using a chlorine-based shock.

I don't even know who to call first or what it could be from. Someone mentioned a holding tank or a pipe from the well to the house broke?? Can anyone shed some light on this for me?? Thanks
Ask a neighbor who they use for their well or pump issues. Sometimes a whole neighborhood can be on the same well or aquafer. A referal is always good as it tells you if the company did it's job or not.

I went to the pool store, they said use Metal out. It has been 36 hours and it is still murky brown from the iron in the well water. I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions? Will I have to drain it again? Can I use any other chemicals with the Metal Out already in there?

the tank is old but we have recently built a new home, diconnected the old lines and reconnected the new ones. Before the new house, sand was an indication of a water lines leak(black mobile home plastic pipe) the new line is pvc. I forgot to mention the tank is a bladder tank.
New lines or not it sounds like one is loose ,broke or cracked.
Hopefully you remembered to put filters in your lines or that may be your problem.

Call a trucking company to haul pool water in a tanker. Depending on your well's recovery rate it could take days to fill a pool.

Orange-Flavored Fried Tofu with Water Chestnuts - Pham Fatale
I felt like making my vegetarian sweet and sour pork recipe today, but I didn't have any pineapples on hand. Sweet and sour sauce is very versatile; you can substitute many tart fruits in place of the pineapple, such as oranges, plums or green mangoes. I had a number of sweet oranges on hand, so I used them in this dish.
The dish turned out to be a big hit. I think it's important to have at least a few recipes in your repertoire that are easy to modify depending on what you have in your pantry. This particular sauce goes great with chicken as well, so if like me you have to cater to meat eaters and vegetarians, you can make one sauce for two dishes.
PreparationFor the water chestnuts:
In a wok, heat about 2 teaspoons of oil. Add the garlic and onion. As the garlic becomes slightly golden, stir-fry sliced water chestnuts. When the color is translucent and shiny, season with sea salt. Add about 1/2 cup of orange juice and a teaspoon of brown sugar. Cook for about 3-4 minutes. The water chestnut should be tender, yet still firm. Transfer to a plate. In the same wok, drizzle about 1 teaspoon of oil. Add the minced fresh ginger and cook for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add the remaining orange juice. Bring to a boil. Add the tapioca mixture and stir constantly to prevent the starch from sticking to the bottom of the wok. Continuously stir the broth as it will thicken very quickly. In another pan, heat the remaining oil for about 2 minutes. The key to a good fried tofu is to get little bubbles when the tofu is in contact with the oil. Don't overheat the oil; otherwise the tofu will get too browned and chewy. Just stick to the slightly jumping bubbles. Add the tofu one piece at a time, making sure the tofu pieces don't touch each other. Lower the heat to medium. Cook for 2 minutes; the tofu will start to pop and increase in volume. Flip each piece and cook about a minute longer. Pick up each tofu piece with wooden chopsticks with as little oil as possible and immediately dip the tofu into the orange-flavored sauce. The tofu will deflate instantaneously. Repeat until all the tofu pieces are ready. Finish with lime juice, cilantro and black pepper. Toss well. I used Hometown brand firm tofu for this recipe. The texture is firmer than Thanh Son brand .
