I have a two inch diameter pipe with a sand point on the end drove down 50 feet and has a foot valve on the end. I am hoping to find a shallow well pump that can slide a pipe down on the inside of this existing two inch pipe and draw water up from 50 feet. Please Help! Thanks
we pump off of a 16 foot shallow well and are looking for info on cleanning it so it produces and or fills up faster
it at one time u couldent catch up to it now it seems like it takes all day to fill up
In reference to the first answer. There's no filter on a dug shallow well, just on a drilled well.
Sounds like your aquifer is low. Ther's no effective way, that I'm aware of ( we have several well son the property,from a drilled deep,shallow stone dug, dug with concrete tiles and a dug with a drilled into the bottom of it) to clean a concrete tiled dug well. You'll need to go deeper or start another well.
Our "shallow"well is at 50 feet and no longer fills rapidly, due to all the development in the area, especially a golfcourse, that killed our 80 foot dug well. We managed to get a few years out of drilling the bottom,but that practice is now illegal where I reside. We were forced to go to a 185 foot drilled well, because the local aquifer had dropped so significantly.
Get a well guy in,he'll know the local water table conditions and what to expect.

I am planning to use a car differential to convert the vertical axis rotation of a Lenz 2 turbine to horizontal, for pumping water. Is there a better way to do it? Where can I find a plan for a better gearbox in lieu of a differential?
So I imagine you want to use a vertical axis wind turbine to pump water.
I say set up the wind turbine, attach an alternator/generator,if the turbine doesnt have one already, and use the 12 DC power to drive a wellpump. simpler and probably more reliable as well as cheaper.
I dug a spring drain out using a backhoe and shovel. I used 36" concrete well pipe and gravel at the bottom. It's about 8 feet deep with 5 ft of water. I can run my well pump nonstop for over a day and can't pump it out. It all depends where the water level is at your location. Had to punch another well about 500 feet from this one and to go over 300 feet deep to hit water.

We have an enormous dug well on our land. It is 7′ x 9′ and 18 feet deep. The first 10′ is concrete and the rest is built from large, cut granite slabs. It is always full to the brim and is spring fed. However, we’ve had the water tested twice, months apart, and it has coliform bacteria in it. Not e-coli. It could be from decomposing leaves and or insects and it may not be a big deal. After all, the previous owner who lived here from 1933 is still going strong, has fantastic recall, and is turning 101 this month. We may even have the fountain of youth on the property.
They say that renovations can cause a lot of stress in a relationship. It’s right up there with moving and changing jobs. The fellow who built our fireplace dropped by a couple of days ago to admire the progress and even he said “I was worried for you both that the renovation could split you guys up.” I hadn’t noticed any dark clouds in our relationship at all – that is until we hit the water wall.
