When I bought the home and had it built 3 years ago the builder said there was a well behind the house but the water was contaminated and the city I live in get its water from canals. Last year they starting drilling 24/7 making tons of noise and my wife and I had to sleep with earplugs it was so bad. I called the city they said to call the water company they said it is a good well and a source of water for the city and there was nothing I could do. Ive even called the police for noise complaints but to no avail. the workers stopped for 6 months and we thought it was finally over and now there back working in this well installing pumps and making noise from 7am to 7pm every day and we get no peace and quiet. Is there an attorney or somebody out there the knows what I can do, this well is literally 40 to 50 feet from my house and these diesel rigs shake my house and the exhaust fumes prevent me from even going outside. Can I fight this and win? I dont want to move, am I just screwed?
you're screwed. most cities have a noise ordinance, but that only goes into effect after 9 pm or later. so i would suggest you just bide your time and wait til they are done. besides. the work they're doing may increase your property value!!
I live in Western New York, have a private well as a water source, and I want to have the water tested. When we bought the house, it was tested, but the only results I got was, "drinkable". I would like to do my own test. Are there any online companies that you can send water samples to?? Or local health organizations, I have no idea. Thank you!
Your local health department has a kit you can get to send off... usually costs about $10. They can be found under "government" in the phone book.
Many of the building supply store chains also carry a kit that you can purchase to send off. (Lowe's for example)
Good Luck

The water company made a billing error and shut off my water by mistake. Now they're saying they won't come turn it back on until tomorrow. I have 2 small children in the home. We can't bathe or do laundry, but more importantly, we can't use the toilet! Is the water company legally allowed to do this?
don't know, but I would call and demand to speak to a supervisor and tell them you have kids and scream at him until they send someone today...especially if it shouldn't have been turned off in the first place.

Our water pressure has gone down really low. All over the house. Nothing has changed for us recently but a house is being built across the street. Could that affect our water pressure and if so could a call to the water company correct it or a plumber?
The builders across the road may have damaged the underground piping. I would call water company tell them you suspect a water main leak above your cutoff.
does black water company hireing foreigners from outside the usa to fight in iraq and afghanistan ?
if yes then where should I apply ?
No, they do not. One of their requirements for employment is US citizenship.

BP drills deepest-ever oil well in Gulf of Mexico | Washington ...
NEW YORK (AP) — Nearly seven miles below the Gulf of Mexico, oil company BP has tapped into a vast pool of crude after digging the deepest oil well in the world.
The Tiber Prospect is expected to rank among the largest petroleum discoveries in the United States, potentially producing half as much crude in a day as Alaska's famous North Slope oil field.
The company's chief of exploration on Wednesday estimated that the Tiber deposit holds between 4 billion and 6 billion barrels of oil equivalent, which includes natural gas. That would be enough to satisfy U.S. demand for crude for nearly one year. But BP does not yet know how much it can extract.
"The Gulf of Mexico is proving to be a growing oil province, and a profitable one if you can find the reserves," said Tyler Priest, professor and director of Global Studies at the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston.
The Tiber well is about 250 miles southeast of Houston in U.S. waters. At 35,055 feet, it is as deep as Mount Everest is tall, not including more than 4,000 feet of water above it.
