Deeprock well drilling equipment can be purchased and they claim wells can be drilled at most any location. Do you know of anyone who has successfully done this?
I have never used deeprock but have sunk a fair number of wells in my life. the one I currently have for the house is just over five hundred feet deep.
but there are several homes within a few miles of us who are right around one hundred feet.
I have never run dry and with four teens we use a lot of water!
but it's not uncommon for the people with shallow wells to lose their water sometimes for months at a time, usually late summer.
now one other think to keep in mind in large towns/cities there maybe so much oil and other junk in the higher water tables making it unsafe for any kind of use.
you can pick up the phone book and find a well driller near you.
I'd first give them a call if you pretend to be a customer you'll get an idea of how deep your water is and what flow rates to expect.
DeepRock water well drilling rigs continue to set the standard for efficient operation, flexible design, and reliability throughout the industry ...
Bought an old house. Water comes from a well under a concrete patio. We can access through a metal grate. Old farm area and don't know if well is shallow or deep. We have water softner equipment, but don't drink it anyhow. Wash clothes, operate toilet, and shower with water which normally is clear. But rain makes it turn light yellow.
Also my wife says I shouldn't have used Scot's weed & feed for nitrates could get in water, but I don't think so and doesn't make water turn yellow?
You might have iron in your water. You should get it tested.
"Yellow or red colored water is often a good indication that iron is present. However, a testing laboratory can determine the exact amount of iron, which can be useful in determining the best type of treatment. In addition to testing for iron, it can be of value to also test for hardness, pH, alkalinity, and iron bacteria. County health departments may offer some of these tests."

If the final piece of equipment will withstand an internal pressure of 10.0 atm, calculate the highest temperature at which the system can be safely operated. The molar enthalpy of vaporization of water at its normal boiling point is 40.7 kJ times mol negative 1.
1. 194 degrees celsius
2. 245 degrees celsius
3. 260 degrees celsius
4. 179 degrees celsius
5. 225 degrees celsius
Look it up on the steam table. http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/satura ted-steam-properties-d_101.htmlh
It's actually 181C. Your prof is evidentally rounding down the atmospheric pressure to 1000mb instead of 1013.3mb, so he is getting 179C or answer 4.
I don't agree with the use of the term "safe" here, but OK.

I know water can damage electrical equipment, but why can water do this? I'm sure it has to do something with electricity and water. I seek an in-depth answer that will leave me with no doubts, or further questions, if possible.
Water is a polar molecule and in nature contain impurities which enhance it's conductive ability. So water become a conductor when introduced to electronic devices and electricity follows the path of least resistance, which is no longer the desired circuit. So with the electricity being conducted into places that are not desired it often causes components to fail by overloading them with power.
Electrical equipment that gets wet while not connected to power often can be used provided it is allowed to dry out completely before power is applied. For example I have been know to put keyboards in the dishwasher and as long as I wait before I used them afterwards. But pour a cup of coffee into the ketbouard while in use and generally it is toast.
